Question 773894: How many pieces of ribbon, each 75 cm long, could be cut from a roll containing 18 meters of ribbon?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
100 cm = 1 m

100/100 cm = 1/100 m

1 cm = 0.01 m

75*1 cm = 75*0.01 m

75 cm = 0.75 m

-------------------------------------------------------

Let x = # of pieces of ribbon

Total Length = (length of each piece)*(number of pieces)

18 = (0.75)*(x)

18/0.75 = x

x = 18/0.75

x = 24

So you can cut 24 pieces of ribbon.
