Question 765423: a train takes 7 hours to travel from station A to station B. if its speed is increased by 10 km/h, it will take 1 hour less to complete the journey.find the distance between two stations?
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Distance = Speed * Time
Speed = x
7x = 6x + 60
7x - 6x = 60
x = 60
Speed = 60mph
Proof:
7 * x = 6 * (x + 10)
7 * 60 = 6 * (60 + 10)
7 * 60 = 6 * 70
420 = 420
Distance = 420 miles.
Hope this helps.
