We wish to find which of the five marbles could be blue (be careful about "which of the following statements MUST be true" followed by "possibilities," it only asks for all possible values).
We know that marble 1 cannot be red. Marble 2 may or may not be blue. Marble 3 is obviously blue. Marble 4 cannot be blue because marble 1 is red. Marble 5 is the same color as marble 2, which could be blue. Here, we note that marble 3 is blue and marbles 2 and 5 are either both blue or both a different, non-blue color. Hence, the only possible values of x are 1 and 3.
