Question 421889: A bus traveling at rate of 60 kph leaves a city. Two hours later, a bus whose average rate is 80 kph leaves the same city traveling in the same direction. How long will it take the faster bus to overtake the slower bus?
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Bus A speed 60 mph
Bus B speed 80 mph
Difference in time= 02:00
Train A will have covered 120 miles before bus B starts

catch up distance=120 miles
catch up speed = 80-60 mph
catch up speed = 20 mph

Catchup time = catchup distance/catch up speed
catch up time=120/20
catch up time=6 hours
