You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Hi,
Average speed would be:
%2860mph+%2B+40mph%29%2F2+=+50mph

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
d=r*t or r=d/t where r=rate or speed, d=distance and t=time
==
To compute average rate you have to take Total distance divided by Total time
==
Total time there t1=d/r=330/60=5.5hours
Total time back t2=d/r = 330/40=8.25 hours
Total time round trip t1+t2=5.5 + 8.25 = 13.75 hours
Total distance =330+330 = 660
--
average trip rate (or speed) = 660/13.75=48.17 mph
