Not technically an algebra problem but,
v=at=4.2%2A5=21 m/s

Starting from rest, a car accelerates at a rate of 4.2 m/s2 for a time of 5 seconds. What is it's velocity at the end of this time?

V = Vo + at
V = end velocity, Vo = initial velocity, a = acceleration, t = time
Vo = 0 m/s, a = 4.2 m/s^2, t = 5 seconds
V = 0 + 4.2 * m/s^2 * 5 * s
V = 21 m/s
