Start with the plane...65% of 1800 would be 1800 x 0.65 = 1170
Then the train ...20% of 1800 would be 1800 x 0.20 = 360
add 1170 + 360 = 1530 now subtract 1530 from 1800
so: 1880 - 1530 = 270
Therefore there will be 270 km traveled by road.

As for the other question: to find a percentage, you divide the number by the total and multiple by 100.
So 140 divided by 2000 = .07 then times 100 = 7%
Subtract 7% from 100% and you get 93% there fore 93% it getting through.
