Question 208922: "A model car enthusiast has a remote control car. He starts out traveling North at 20km/h in his car. But his remote car starts at the same time traveling 30km/h to the West. Unfortunately the remote control radio has a range of only 10km so eventually the plane loses contact with the remote.
a. How long does it take for the remote and plane to lose contact? "

I've been at this one for quite some time now and still haven't found the right equation, I think it involves the Pythagorean Theorem, but I'm not entirely sure since it did not turn up any positive results.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
"A model car enthusiast has a remote control car. He starts out traveling North at 20km/h in his car. But his remote car starts at the same time traveling 30km/h to the West. Unfortunately the remote control radio has a range of only 10km so eventually the plane loses contact with the remote.
a. How long does it take for the remote and plane to lose contact? "
Is he in the car or the plane? Which way is the plane going?
