You can put this solution on YOUR website! A truck leaves a hotel at 45 mph to go to the airport which is exactly 1 hour away. When it is half way there,a taxi starts from a hotel starting at 50 mph for the airport. How far is the taxi from the airport when the truck reaches the airport?
----------------
If it's "1 hour away" at 45 mph, then it's 45 miles away.
The taxi starts when the truck is 1/2 hour from the airport, and at 50 mph travels 25 miles in 1/2 hours.
45-25 = 20 miles.
The truck is 20 miles from the airport when the taxi arrives.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! distance from hotel to airport is 45 * 1 = 45 miles
when the truck is half-way from the airport, the time taken by the truck is 1/2 hour, so the remaining time to reach the airport is (1 - 1/2) hour = 1/2 hour
distance the taxi traveled = 50 * 1/2 = 25 miles
so,the taxi is (45 - 25) = 20 miles away from the airport

You can put this solution on YOUR website! from where the truck start to the airport is 1 hour
when the truck drives half way the taxi start leaving from the airport at 50mph
ok the truck drives half way he has half an hour left to get to the airport. therefore the taxi driver only drives for 1/2 hour when the truck arrives at the airport.
50mph * 1/2 hour of driving = 25 mi away from the airport

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since it takes 1 hour to get to the airport, at a speed of 45 mph, it follows that the distance from the hotel to the airport is 45 miles.
When the truck gets to the half way point, it has traveled 22.5 miles, and for hour. Therefore, it has to travel for another hour to get to the airport.
Since at the way point, the truck has to travel another hour to get to the airport, then the taxi will also travel for hour.
Since the taxi’s speed is 50 mph, and it will take hour to get to a specific point, at which time the truck would’ve reached the airport, then the distance traveled by the taxi, at 50 mph, and traveling for hour would be: , which equals 25 miles.
Now, since by the time the truck gets to the airport, the taxi has traveled 25 miles, and since the distance to the airport is 45 miles, it follows that the taxi will be (45 – 25) miles from the airport when the truck reaches the airport.
