A and B start from a given point and travel on a straight road at average speeds of 30 and 50 miles per hour respectively. If B starts 3 hours after A, find (a) the time and (b) the distance the travel before meeting.

With T being time B traveled before meeting A, the DISTANCE equation is: 50T = 30(T + 3)
Solve that to get a time of AFTER B left.
From this, you can easily find the distance traveled.
