In Detroit, the temperature in 69 F and is rising at a rate of 2 degrees F. In Atlanta, the temperature is 85 F and is falling at a rate of 3 degree F per hour. If the temperatures continue to change at the same reates, how long will it be before the temperatures are the same.
Write an equeaion---69+2(h) = 84 -3(h)
solve the equation...69+2h=84-3h
69+5h=84
5h=15
h=3
it would take 3 hours before the temperatures are the same
