Question 1019913: Matt and dan cycle around a cycle track.
Each lap matt cycles takes him 50 seconds,
Each lap dan cycles takes him 80 seconds,
Dan and matt start cycling at the same time at the start line.
Work out how many laps they would have done when they are next to each other at the start line again... isn't it matt- 8 and dan- 5?? Answer by LinnW(1048) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Matt will be at the starting line the following no. of seconds after the start
50 100 150 200 250 300 350 400 450
Dan will be at the starting line at
80 160 240 320 400 480
Notice that the first time both will cross at the same time is after 400 seconds.
At that time Matt will have completed 8 laps and Dan will have completed 5 laps.
