Even numbers are numbers that are multiples of 2.
You could also say that they are divisible by 2.
The first one is  ,
the next/2nd one is  ,
and the 3rd one (the next one after 4) is  .
Counting by 2's you get from one even number to the next one.
2 and 4 are consecutive even numbers, because 4 is the next even number after 2.
4 and 6 are consecutive even numbers, because 6 is the next even number after 4.
That is what consecutive means: one after the other as we count then in order.
2 and 6 are even numbers, but they are not consecutive even numbers,
because we skipped 4.
