2 is the only even prime number. All other prime numbers are odd.


The sum of an odd number of odd numbers is odd. Since there are five prime numbers (that's an odd number of numbers), if they were all odd then the sum would be odd.


Since the sum is even, one of the five prime numbers must be even. It must be 2, the only even prime number.
