You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let smaller number = x
Larger number is therefore x+5

x%5E2+%2B+%28x%2B5%29%5E2+=+97
x%5E2+%2B+x%5E2+%2B+10x+%2B+25+=+97
2x%5E2+%2B+10x+-+72+=+0
x%5E2+%2B+5x+-+36+=+0
(x+9)(x-4) = 0
so x+9 = 0 or x-4=0

so x=-9, x=4

The question says positive numbers, so x=4 and the larger number is 5 greater, is 9.
