Question 462614: get the odd 3 out.what number should be subtracted from each number to take the number 3 out? 43,265 subtract? what s the answer

Answer: Subtract 39000

 43265
-39000
------
  4265

How'd I get 39000?
I removed the 3 from the 43265, getting 4265,
then I subtracted

43265
-4265
-----
39000

And I knew that was what I had to subtract from
43265 to take out the 3 and just have 4265.
