No, doubling a number is adding it to itself.
Adding two odd numbers gives you an even number.
Odd numbers are even numbers plus 1.
Odd+Odd=(Even+1)+(Even+1)=Even+Even+2
An even number plus an even number is an even number.

Pick an odd number.
Any odd number.
To double it up means to multiply it by 2 or add it to itself.
I will use 3.
Add: 3 + 3 = 6, an even number.
Multiply by 2: 3 x 2 = 6, same even number.
Try another number.
How about 5?
Add: 5 + 5 = 10, an even number.
Multiply by 2: 5 x 2 = 10, same even number.
In conclusion, when we DOUBLE an odd number we get an even number.
