You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Suppose Tom has 21 coins totaling $3.45. If he has only dimes and quarters how much of ech does he have?
these are fun
dimes=$0.10
quarters=$0.25
d=dimes
q=quarters
so d%2Bq=21 and .10d%2B.25q=3.45 i will use elimination method but u could also use substitution method.
______________________________________________
-.10d-.10q=-2.10 MULTIPLY BY -.10
.10d%2B.25q=3.45 ADD THE 2 EQUATIONS TOGETHER
.15q=1.35 DIVIDE BY .15
highlight%28q=9%29
d%2Bq=21
d%2B9=21SUBTRACT 9
highlight%28d=12%29
So 9 quarters and 12 dimes
