You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hello,
Let's first set up where one number will be x. We know the other number has a difference of 5 so we can write it as x-5. We have the total as 63 therefore:
x + x - 5 = 63 combine like terms
2x-5=63 Add 5 to both sides
2x=68 Divide both sides by 2
x=34 so now we know one number is 34 and the other number is 29.
Do they add up to 63?
