Question 1164291: What number should be added to 50 to get a sum of 38?
Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
38 + 12 = 50
subtract 12 from both sides of that equation to get 38 = 50 - 12
50 - 12 is the same as 50 + (-12).
what that is saying is, that if you add -12 to 50, you get 38.
so i think the number that should be added to 50 to get a sum of 38 is equal to -12.
