Mrs.Rossi wrote the following clues for a mystery numbers
it is a 4-digit number = a10^3+b10^2+c10+d
--------------------------------
the tens are double the ones: c = 2d
-----------------------------------------
the thousands are double the tens:: a = 2c = 4d
--------------------------------------------------
the sum of the digits is 19 :: a + b + c + d = 19
--------------------------------------
what number is it?
----
Substitute for a and c to get:
4d + b + 2d + d = 19
b + 7d = 19
---
d = 2 ; b = 5 ; a = 4 ; a = 8
