Hi there,
if 4 is added to one half of a number
the result is 15 less than that same number.
Make x the number
4 + x/2 = x - 15
Collect like terms
x - x/2 = 15 + 4
x/2 = 19
Cross multiply
x = 38
The number is 38.
Hope this helps :-)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4%2BN%2F2=N-15
Multiply by 2,
8%2BN=2N-30
-N=-38
N=38
Verifying,
4%2B38%2F2=38-15
4%2B19=23
23=23
True, good solution.
