Question 711076: If the sum of a number and 5 is doubled, the result is 4 less than the number. find the number.I tried this and it didn't work out correctly.
2(x+5)=2x-4
2x+10=2x-4
2x+10-2x=2x-4-2x
now ive got
10=-4
10-4=6
this isn't the correct answer where did I screw up or forget something?

Question 712775: A procedure calls for 200mL of a 2% glucose solution. A 50% solution is available. How much of the 50% solution is needed to make 200mL of the 2% solution.
I've figured that I would need 4mL of gulcose solution for the total 200mL. I set my problem up like this: .50x + 1(200-x)= 200 (.98). By setting it up like that, I got 8mL of 50% solution, but wouldn't I need much less 50% than I would 2%?
