You can put this solution on YOUR website!

383 students
9 buses each filled with x students

5 students had to travel in cars
9x%2B5=383
if you subtract car-riders: 9x=383-5=378 you got number of students traveling in bus
9x=378
x=378%2F9
x=42..............students were on each bus
check:
9x%2B5=383
9%2A42%2B5=383
378%2B5=383
383=383

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
42 there was 383 subtract 5 students that are going in cars then you get 378 students... Divide the 9 buses..and you get 42 students for each bus..
378÷9=42
