You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The question literally asks how much water and how much 20% sugar solution to make 7 ounces of 10% sugar. You gave other information if applying this to a child, but this is not included in the asked question. Please restate the whole problem description and question exactly as it was given to you. If the question about making the solution for a child, or for an adult?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let +w+ = ounces of water needed
Let +x+ = ounces of 20% glucose solution needed
+.2x+ = ounces of glucose in 20% solution
given:
(1) +w+%2B+x+=+7+
(2) +.2x+%2F+%28+x+%2B+w+%29+=+.1+
-----------------------
(2) +.2x+=+.1%2A%28+x+%2B+w+%29+
(2) +.2x+=+.1x+%2B+.1w+
(2) +.1x+=+.1w+
(2) +x+=+w+
So, I can say
(1) +w+%2B+x+=+7+
(1) +2x+=+7+
(1) +x+=+3.5+
+w+=+3.5+
3.5 ounces of water should be used
check:
(2) +.2x+%2F+%28+x+%2B+w+%29+=+.1+
(2) +.2%2A3.5+%2F+%28+3.5+%2B+3.5+%29+=+.1+
(2) +.7+%2F+7+=+.1+
(2) +.7+=+.7+
OK
