You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Jane has 40 liters of 70% acid solution.
How many liters of water must be added to form a solution that is 40% acid?
:
Let x = amt of water required to accomplish this
write an amt of acid equation, remains the same, only the percent changes
.7(40) = .4(x+40)
28 = .4x + 16
28 - 16 = .4x
12 = .4x
x = 12/.4
x = 30 liters of water required
