Question 463747: I would like to figure out how to mix pesticide at various concentrations for my garden. The chemical concentration is 10%. If I mix x amount in one gallon, what will my concentration be? ex: 1 oz of concentrate, in one gallon (128 oz)= what percentage of pesticide? I would like the formula for figuring this problem out please. Thanks for your help. I used to be pretty good with math, but it's been so long since high school.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 oz. of concentrate mixed with 128 oz. of water is 1/129 or .78%--To get 10% you
need:
.10(128+x)=x
12.8+.1x=x
12.8=.9x
x=12.8/.9=14.22 oz. of pesticide necessary..
