Let x and (12L-x) represent the amount of %14 and %8 solution respectively

Question states***

 .14x + .08(12L-x) = .10*12L

Solving for x

    .06x = .02*12L

       x = 4L, the amount of 14% solution.  8L of 8% solution.  (12L-4L)



CHECKING our Answer***

  .14*4L + .08*8L = .56L + .64L = 1.2L
