How many pounds of walnuts must be added to 15 pounds of pecans to make a mixture that sells for $1.75 per pound? I am not sure of the equation to use for this problem. Not looking for an answer just not sure of the equation to use. Thank You for your help!!! Answer by scott8148(6628) (Show Source):
you can look at this as a "weighted average" problem
___ since the prices of the individual nuts are the same "distance" from the mixed price
___ the amounts (weights) of the two types of nuts are equal
