You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Albert buys and sells books, and always purchase it at the same price.
He then sells the books for $5 more than what he paid for.
Two months before, he broke even after buying 56 books and selling 49.
What is his buying price and selling price?
:
Let x = the buying price
and
(x+5) = the selling price
:
56x = 49(x+5)
56x = 49x + 245
56x - 49x = 245
7x = 245
x = 245%2F7
x = $35 is the buying price
obviously
35 + 5 = $40 is the selling price

Check solution
56(35) = 1960
49(40) = 1960
