Question 317959: How much of an alloy that is 30% copper should be mixed with 600oz of an alloy that is 60% copper in order to get alloy that is 40% copper?
I want to know if I set it up right.

How much of an alloy that is 30% copper should be mixed with 600oz of an alloy that is 60% copper in order to get alloy that is 40% copper?
I want to know if I set it up right.
.30x + .60(600) = .40(360+x)
Is that correct? ...because I'm not getting the answer I was told I should get.
----------------
.30x + .60(600) = .40(360+x) ** Why 360 + x ? Should be 0.40*(600+x)
