You can put this solution on YOUR website!
40(5.6)+1.89(100)=x(140)...where x is the cost of the final mixture
:
224+189=140x
:
413=140x
:
$highlight%28x=2.95%29cost per pound of final mixture

forty pounds of cashews costing $5.60 per pound were mixed with 100 lb. of peanuts costing $1.89 per pound. Find the cost of the resulting mixture.
----------------------------
Value Equation:
5.60*40 + 1.89*100 = x(140)
224 + 189 =140x
140x = 413
x = $2.95 (This will be the price per pound of the resulting mixture)
