You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(11-x)(14-x)=80
154-25x+x^2=80
x^2-25x+154-80=0
x^2-25x+74=0
Using the quadratic equation x+=+%28-b+%2B-+sqrt%28+b%5E2-4%2Aa%2Ac+%29%29%2F%282%2Aa%29+ we get:
x=(25+-sqrt[-25^2-4*1*74])/2
x=(25+-sqrt625-296])/2*1
x=(25+-sqrt329)/2
x=(25+-18.138)/2
x=6.86/2
x=3.43 ans. for the size of the cut-out on the corners.
Proof:
(11-3.43)(14-3.43)=80]
7.57*10.57=80
80~80
