You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Let x= $5.00 tickets
y= $8.00 tickets
Then it follows,
5x%2B8y=27200 ------------------------> eqn 1
Also,
x%2By=4000tickets --------------------> eqn 2
In eqn 2 we get,
x=4000-y ---------------------------> eqn 3
Susbt. eqn 3 in eqn 1:
5%284000-y%29%2B8y=27200
20000-5y%2B8y=27200
3y=27200-20000=7200
cross%283%29y%2Fcross%283%29=cross%287200%292400%2Fcross%283%29
y=2400 , Number of $8.00 tickets
Via eqn 3;
x=4000-2400=1600, Number of $5.00 tickets
In doubt? go back eqn 1:
5%2A1600%2B8%2A2400=27200
8000%2B19200=27200
27200=27200
Thank you,
