How much 10% alcohol solution should be mixed with 14 ounces of 18% solution to get a 12% solution?
Let amount of 10% alcohol to mix, be T
Then we get: .1T + .18(14) = .12(T + 14)
.1T + 2.52 = .12T + 1.68
.1T - .12T = 1.68 - 2.52
- .02T = - .84
Amount of 10% solution to mix, or
