Question 1143860: A box contains 4 red cards, 6 blue cards and 10 green cards. What is the smallest number of cards we must take from the box to make sure that we have 2 red cards? Answer by ikleyn(52790) (Show Source):
In the worst case, you will take 6 blue and 10 green cards first;
but then the next two cards INEVITABLY will be red.
ANSWER. Whatever (6 + 10) + 2 = 18 card you take from the box, at least 2 of them will be red.
