Question 1142998: A truck driver traveled 130 miles using 4 gallons of diesel fuel. What distance would the same truck cover using 6.7 gallons of diesel fuel? Answer by math_helper(2461) (Show Source):

Another way, which is basically the same as above but with two distinct steps, is to compute the fuel economy (miles per gallon) of the truck, then figure out how far the truck can travel on 6.7 gallons of diesel fuel:
MPG = 130mi/4gal = 32.5mi/gal
The truck can therefore travel 32.5mi/gal * 6.7gal = 217.75 mi on 6.7 gal of diesel fuel.
