a solution mixed at a concentration of 5+%28g%2Fml%29 and need 100+gal mixed at 4%28+g%2Fml%29

5%2AV%5B1%5D=4%2A100
V%5B1%5D=400%2F5
V%5B1%5D=80

notice the product on both sides have same amount of substance (g)
so, 80+gal of the 5%28+g%2Fml%29 solution has same amount of substance as 100 gal of 4+%28g%2Fml%29 solution

now take 80 gal of the 5%28+g%2Fml%29 and 20 gal of water to make 100 gal of 4%28+g%2Fml+%29solution

adding water does not change the amount of grams of substance, it just dilutes the concentration
