You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
Let x be "How much pure apple juice should she use", in liters.

Then the volume of the 40% juice to mix is (2-x) liters.

Then your concentration equation is

    %280.4%2A%282-x%29+%2B+x%29%2F2 = 0.8,

saying that the ratio of the pure apple juice to the total volume of 2 liters is 0.8 = 80%.

Solve it step by step:

    0.4*(2-x) + x = 0.8*2

    0.8 - 0.4x + x = 1.6

    0.6x = 1.6 - 0.8

    0.6x = 0.8  ====>  x = 0.8%2F0.6 = 8%2F6 = 4%2F3 = 11%2F3 liters   ANSWER

Check.   %280.4%2A%282-4%2F3%29+%2B+4%2F3%29%2F2 = 0.8.    ! Exactly correct !
