How Much $.65/lb seeds does a farmer need to combinne with 200 pounds of $.45/lb seed to make a $.55/lb blend?
I got s=-81.32
--------------
Negative 81.32?
How did you get that?
================
.65s + 200*.45 = .55*(s + 200)
65s + 200*45 = 55*(s+200)
65s + 9000 = 55s + 11000
10s = 2000
s = 200 pounds
====================
Shortcut:
Since 55 is the average of 65 and 45, it's equal amounts.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x of 0.65 dollar per pound seed
%280.65x%2B0.45%2A200%29%2F%28x%2B200%29=0.55

0.65x%2B90=0.55%28x%2B200%29
0.65x%2B90=0.55x%2B110
0.1x=20
highlight_green%28x=200%29

Notice that the target price is exactly in the middle of the two separate starting seeds prices.
