You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
Distance + distance = total distance

3r       + 3*(r+40) = 330

3r + 3r + 120 = 330

6r = 330 - 120 = 210  ====>  r = 210%2F6 = 35.

Answer. The slower train rate is 35 mph. The faster train rate is 35+40 = 75 mph.

Solved.
