Question 1053206: Lydia has money in two savings accounts. One rate is 5% and the other is 15%. If she has $700 more in the 15% account and the total interest is $383, how much is invested in each savings account? Answer by jorel555(1290) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let n be the amount in the account that earns 5%. Then the other account would be n+700. So:
.05n+.15(n+700)=383
.2n=278
n=1390 invested at 5%
n+700=2090 invested at 15%. ☺☺☺☺
