Question 1032016: In the language of hypothesis testing, which of the following statements are true?
I) A Type I error occurs when a the null hypothesis is rejected and the null was true.
II) When rejecting or accepting the null hypothesis, you can not make both a Type I error and a Type II error with the same decision.
III) The null hypothesis is rejected if the p-value (observed significance level) is greater than alpha(α) the level of significance
IV) The probability of committing a Type II error is α, the significance level of the test
A I only
B I and II only
C I, II and III only
D I, II and IV only
E I, II, III and IV are all true statements

You can put this solution on YOUR website! I only.
Reject Ho when Ho is true is a Type I error.
It is possible to have for a set of data a Type I error and Type II error probability, but Type II errors are accepting a false Ho, and it is not possible to accept a false Ho and reject a true Ho at the same time.
The p-value must be less than alpha, the level of significance.
beta is related to Type II error.
