8/16=1.5/X CROSS MULTIPLY
8X-1.5*16
8X=24
X=3 CUPS OF SUGAR ARE REQUIRED.

2X/3=16
2X=3*16
2X=48
X=48/2
X=24 COOKIES CAN BE MADE WITH I CUP OF BUTTER.
