Question 398198: A ball is thrown straight upward at an initial speed of 104 feet per seconds. From Physics it is known that, after t seconds, the ball reaches a height h feet given by the formula h=-16t^2 + 104 t.
1.The ball reaches the height of 64.96 feet after t1= _____ and t2=_____ seconds (with t1 < t2)
I set up the problem as 64.96= -16t^2+104t. I solved for t and I keep coming up with t1= .777 and t2= 5.222. What am I doing wrong?

Question 398995: please help I'm stuck!!!
My homework question is... A small fair charges $1.50 for children and $4.00 for adults. On a certain day 220 people attened and $5050 was collected. How many children and adults where there on this day.
I think it is system of equation so I set up and equation of 1.50c + 2200=5050, then I subtracted 2200 from both sides which left me with 1.50c=2850, so I then divided both sides by 1.50 which gave me 1900. But then that means only 300 adults at 4.00 dollars can out to be $1,200 so my total only came to be $4050 making it $1,000 short and I cannot figure this out please help me.
