| Question 971110:  I need to put this into an algebra equation... I figured out w average the answer is 98 but no clue how to make it into algebra please help
 Debbie is running laps at the track. She wants to average 100 seconds per lap on her last set of 4. For the first 3 laps, she ran 98 seconds, 103 seconds, and 101 seconds. How fast does she need to run the last lap?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Debbie is running laps at the track. She wants to average 100 seconds per lap on her last set of 4. For the first 3 laps, she ran 98 seconds, 103 seconds, and 101 seconds. How fast does she need to run the last lap? --------
 (98 + 103 + 101 + time)/4 = 100
 (98 + 103 + 101 + time) = 400
 302 + time = 400
 time = 400-302
 time = 98
