You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hello can someone help with this problem?
What is the remainder when x^7-x^6+x^5-x^4+4 is divided by (x-1)?
------------
use the Remainder Theorem which says
the answer is f(1)= 1-1+1-1+4 = 4
-----------
Use synthetic division:
1)....1....-1....1....-1....0....0....0....4
........1....1....1.....0.....0...0....0...|..4
---------------------
Dividing by x-1 gives a Quotient of x^6+x^5+x^4+1
and a Remainder of 4
