Question 864278: There are 11 cookies on a plate. During one day several were eaten. 12 cookies were added to the plate which now has 17 cookies on it. How many cookies were eaten? Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source):
You start out with 11 cookies. Then you subtract off x cookies that are eaten. Afterwards, you add on 12 more cookies. So you'll have cookies. This is equal to 17.
