Question 844921: Two ancient armies are 1 km apart and begin walking toward each other. The Vikons walk at a pace of 3 km/h and the Mohicas walk at a pace of 4 km/h. How long will they walk for before the battle begins?
Answer by LinnW(1048)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
They are approaching each other at the sum of their speeds
or 7 km/h .
Since distance = rate * time
1 km = 7 km/h * time
divide each side by 7 km/h
((1 km) / (7km/h)) = time
1/7 hour = time
