You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/5x = 1/3y ...1
x + y = 320....2
Altering equation (1)
1/5x + 1/3y
x = 5/3y
Substitute x = 5/3y in eq(2)
x + y = 320
5/3y + y = 320
(1 = 3/3)
5/3y + 3/3y = 320
8/3y = 320
y = (320 * 3)/8
y = 120cms
Tom's height = 200cms
Jerry's height = 120cms
Hope this helps.

let Tom's height height be x and Jerry's height y
1%2F5 of Tom's height is equal to 1%2F3 of Jerry's height
%281%2F5%29x=%281%2F3%29y...cross multiply
3x=5y........eq.1
if their total height is 320cm, then
x%2By=320cm......eq.2
solve the system:
3x=5y........eq.1
x%2By=320cm......eq.2

x%2By=320cm......eq.2.....solve for x
x=320cm-y.......substitute in eq.1
